Hi Ed,

I am going to share this article with Andrew and Greg. Although between the two, they consume 1, 2L bottle of a soda every week, they consume snacks that contanin HFCS. One more reason to make a dinner every day from fresh ingredients and sit together with everyone at least once per day to catch up.!

Well, I am going to share this article with my students who come from poor neighborhood and have very poor eating habits. I see kids bringing a 1/2 gallon - gallon sweetened ice tea every day and they really drink it all before the bell rings at 2:10 pm. It is norm among my students that they live with one parent who holds 2 jobs to make ends meet or foster parents with 10 or so other kids. Do they get to eat freshly made food? I highly doubt it.

Also, I have an added concern about HFCS. What about HFCS made in China, a country known to have outrageousely poor regulations and produces large quantities of just about anything the world consumes? (Remember the baby formula with melamine, lead content in toys, and fish with unapproved antibiotics? ). I never buy any fish farmed in China but I am at a loss when it comes to processed food stuffs since they do not list where the ingredients are come from.

I am so glad the planting season is here. Cold crops went in this weekend - organic and delicious!

Love you and say hi to Carisa
ps: Hope this summer, we get to see you. Sandra signed up for the summer week in Ashville. Yeah!
